Wonderful Things is made of ten stories devised and created by Tim Walker and Shona Heath, one of Walker’s main collaborators, for the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Walker picked ten of the museum’s objects and transformed them with the help of models, stylists, set designers and many other collaborators, to be actors in a magic world created by the photographer’s infinite imagination. The dragon on the cover is a re-imagined dragon from an old children’s book, drawn by Shona. Our created Type swirling around its tale and claws.
Tim Walker’s photographs are dispatches from a non-parallel universe. His images convey a glittering otherness, visions that haunt the viewer like an unredacted fairytale.
